These two haven't spent much time together, other than a little hair pulling by Elliott and a few kisses from Penny. That changed last night when we gave Elliott (baby led weaning style of course) a few strips of the grass-fed steak we were eating for dinner. It only took him dropping one piece of steak on the ground before Penny was sticking to him like glue for the rest of the night!
It was the first time that we put Elliott in the high chair, and he loved it! He happily sucked on steak and green beans while I ate my entire meal without holding a baby once! I think it was the first time I've eaten my entire dinner with two hands since he was born!

We went on a little family outing yesterday to Myrtle Edwards Park. Nick took the day off and it was absolutely gorgeous! Oliver rode his bike a good 2 miles or so, which included riding through a train yard, past a school bus parking lot, past a construction yard with tractors driving around, under a bridge, and along a waterfront where he saw several large ships at the dock. He was definitely tired when we got home!

Penny got to shoot an internet commercial for a Bissell vacuum cleaner this morning. She did a great job and the producers want to have her back again! The commercial should be finished within the next two weeks so I'll be sure to post a copy of it. Here are a few pictures that I was able to snap in between scenes.
not in the commercial, but this guy got to hang out in a fancy living room

For a few months now, we've been ordering our grass-fed meat from a farm in eastern Washington. Every Friday they deliver orders to our community center three blocks away. How convenient! They've even dropped them off at my house before too, when I didn't feel like packing the kids up. Today we were a bit early so Oliver played at the playground and Elliott, Penny and I hung out in the grass. I just wish my phone took better pictures!

The pictures of Oliver below pretty much sum up his day!
First time riding in the dump truck AND facing forward in his car seat. Lucky Oliver.
The hat was a souvenir from the dirt and rock yard.
He wears it well!
Might as well bring out my own tractors with all this fresh dirt to play in!
Loading dirt and rocks into his wheelbarrow.
I'm not sure who was supervising here!
now we just need some vegetables!
