Here's an old picture of Evan wearing the blue Nikes, which Oliver is wearing today.

Oliver has been walking for about 6 weeks now, and he's getting pretty good. The grass that he's walking on in the video is actually on a hill, so he's doing pretty well. My mom saved these tiny tennis shoes that Evan wore when he was a baby. They're cute retro Nikes with laces. Who puts laces on baby shoes? I guess some things have changed since the 80s. But they're still awfully cute on Oliver.

Here are a video and some pictures of Oliver's first swim lesson. He absolutely loved it! After the lesson was over, he and Nick went in the hot tub to warm up, although the pool was already a warm 85 degrees. Oliver would have happily stayed in the water longer and it looks like swim team may be in his future!

Oliver is walking like a champ now, and hardly crawls at all anymore. He signs milk, dog, more, finished and daddy. He also loves to point to things and say "mah", which means either tell me what that item is, or take me to it. It's really cute because he's pointing at just about everything. The second he woke up this morning, he stood up on the bed and pointed to my nightstand, saying "mah". I couldn't figure out what he was asking for. Then it dawned on me that sometimes my alarm clock, which plays the radio, is often on when he wakes up. So, I turned on the radio for him, and he immediately started dancing :) It was so cute! He's copying us now too, not so much on the words, but if Nick does something to him, he'll do it back. He also has started walking Penny around the house when we put her leash on. It's really cute, and she just stands there, or walks really slow at his pace. I have so many pictures of the two of them that I'll have to put them in a separate post. Here are some pictures from the last month to enjoy:

Our not-so-little man is 11 months old today! Nick and I celebrated by going out to a nice dinner without him. Actually, we went out for a late 5th anniversary dinner, while Jim and Cynthia watched Oliver for us. It was the first time we have done that since he was born, and it was really nice. It was also (gulp) our first $100 meal! But when we averaged it out to $20/year it doesn't sound to bad. Here are some recent park pictures of Oliver. He is playing with Penny's chuck-it, which is one of his favorite toys. More pictures and video update coming soon. . .
