Halloween 2010

Here are a some more pictures from Halloween this year! We let Oliver trick-or-treat at two of our friend's houses and had fun handing out candy at our house. The weather was gorgeous so it made for a great Halloween night!

My own pumpkin!
I love it!
Are those seeds inside?
Cleaning it out
I made these jack-o-lantern tangerines :)
Had to have a Penny kissing picture :)
PEPS Halloween Party. It was their nap time.
Trying to capture our orange porch light. Yes, Oliver is upside down!
Ready to go trick-or-treating!

Pumpkin Patch 2010

Here are some pictures from our trip to the pumpkin patch last week. It turned out to be a really warm day! Oliver loved the farm! There were so many things to do and places to run!

The cutest cowboy ever!
He loved the saddle.
Pumpkins :) This was a really hard pose because I had to hold both Tessa and Oliver off the ground so they could reach the holes.

Scarecrow Oliver
Checking out the goats and llamas before feeding them.
He was really into the wheelbarrow. He was actually able to push it a little bit.
Picking out a pumpkin
Wait, he sees something more interesting. . .
A John Deer tractor! Once he spotted this, he wanted nothing to do with the pumpkins.
A ride in the wheelbarrow. Do I really have to sit down?
Going in for the kiss. . .
Score! Oliver LOVES to give kisses and hugs.
His pumpkin
What a fun day!

Fun with Ketchup!

We gave Oliver ketchup for the first time tonight. It was supposed to be for the almond flour breaded chicken strips I made for dinner, but as you can see, he had other plans. He did eat it on the chicken, but he also kept signing "more" so he would have more to smear around on his tray. At the end of dinner, he decided to put his whole face into it :)

If you're wondering why I haven't posted anything for a while, it's because my computer died last week :( My new one won't be here for another 10 days or so and I'm using Nick's in the meantime.

Oliver's 1st Guitar

I'm a little behind on my blog posts. Here's some footage from last month of Oliver playing with an early birthday present from Binny. Check out the dancing at the end :)

Another trip to the Beach

Another trip to the beach to enjoy the gorgeous weather! It's only a five minute drive from our house and Nick joined us this time!
Excited for the beach!

One of his favorite things to do, walking Penny.

Walking down to the water with Daddy.

He didn't get my genes! I hated the sand on my feet when I was his age.

He learned to throw rocks in the water after he saw some other kids doing it.

Picking up more rocks.

Climbing over a big log all by himself!

Relaxing on a bench

Do we have to go already?

Comfy

Penny sure likes to get comfortable on our new couch :)

Happy 1st Birthday Oliver!

This was us just one year ago today. . .

And here is Oliver today. He's a wonderfully happy, active, handsome little boy! This year has gone by incredibly fast, but it has been one of the best years of our lives. Happy Birthday Oliver! We love you!

Brownies

Here is my favorite brownie recipe from Elana's Pantry. It's gluten free, but you wouldn't know it by the way they look and taste. They're delicious, and healthy!

Chocolate Chip Brownies
1 (16) ounce jar salted almond butter, smooth roasted
2 eggs
1 ¼ cups agave nectar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
½ cup cocoa powder
½ teaspoon celtic sea salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup dark chocolate chips 73% cacao
  1. In a large bowl, blend almond butter until smooth with a hand blender
  2. Blend in eggs, then blend in agave and vanilla
  3. Blend in cocoa, salt and baking soda, then fold in chocolate chips
  4. Grease a 9 x 13 pyrex baking dish
  5. Pour batter into dish
  6. Bake at 325° for 35-40 minutes

Makes about 24 brownies
