My TV Debut!

Well, sort of. Grisha, the owner of Ahimsa Dog Training, where I work, was on a local TV show this morning. She was demonstrating behaviors with puppies, and I was the one to swap puppies with her for each trick. Oliver came with me and hung out in the green room and dressing room while I was on stage.

Trip to the Park

Since we've been having the most gorgeous spring weather up here, we decided to take Oliver to the park for the first time. The park is just a block and a half away. We played on the swings, in the sandbox, and on the slide!

Oliver's First Airplane

Great Grandma Binny insisted that we get the airplane we saw at the consignment store last weekend for Oliver, so Nick and I went to pick it up this afternoon. Nick can't wait to modify it and add a motor. Here's a short video! As you can see, Oliver is already having fun in it!

Turbine Fun

Jim's brother Tom is visiting from Wisconsin this weekend. The reason for his trip? He needs a jet engine for a hoover craft he's building. So on Friday, Nick joined Jim and Tom to Turbine Fun, a guy who sells aircraft turbine engines for the use of fun stuff. Here's a video of the engine Tom is buying. To me, it's not particularly interesting, especially after watching the engine run for more than a few seconds. But the guys must find it fascinating because they've watched the video more than 20 times already!

Here is a video of Oliver babbling one night when he didn't want to sleep. He sure had a lot to say!

We practice sitting every time I change him, and it makes it's easier to dress him this way. For some reason he doesn't mind having things go over his head when he's sitting up, but he doesn't tolerate it very well if he's lying down.

PEPS Babies

Here are some long overdue pictures, taken about a month ago. These are the PEPS babies in our group. You can see Oliver in the middle surrounded by girls! There's just one other boy (on the far left). When we put Oliver down he immediately reached for River's hand, and held it the entire time.

Hats

Binny wouldn't be Binny without her brightly colored hats, headbands, bows, or anything else she wears on her head. She recently sent Oliver a few hats so that he can join in her style.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Nick, Oliver and I went out for a late brunch at Portage Bay Cafe, an organic restaurant that opened up a few months ago nearby. The food was delicious and they even had gluten free pancakes on the menu! Then we strolled around Green Lake with Penny and got back just in time for Nick to go to bed early (he's still getting up at 2am for the early shift at work). I tried to get a few pictures of Oliver playing with a tissue paper heart, but he was tired and it was past his nap time so here's what I got:

4 Month Update

So we can't believe Oliver is already 4 months old! He's growing so much and turning into a little boy. We love him more and more each day and he's so much fun! His favorite toy right now are his feet! He loves to babble, especially when in his car seat or on the changing table. He'll be sitting up soon, and he can support himself pretty well in the tripod position. He also loves to watch Penny. He recently started "petting" or grabbing for her fir. She's not thrilled with that, but it's pretty cute to watch. He continues to be super mellow and is really easy to travel with. And he is even reading now (see pictures below)!
