cafe lago

Dinner at Cafe Lago with Jim Baer:

a big ball of dough to play with was waiting at Oliver's spot

this was a big hit and kept him busy until our food came

he also munched on some bread dipped in olive oil. we're not sure where he learned to dip bread, since we haven't been here for months.

and the dough turned into pizza!
yum!

low tide

The tide was very low this morning at Golden Gardens and the toddlers had a blast! This is the first time Oliver and I have seen the tide so low. Can't believe there is so much to do just 5 minutes from our house.

carpool

Oliver and I carpooled with Tessa and her mom Jess today on our way to a music trip downtown. On the way back, I saw Oliver with his outstretched hand saying "hand" to Tessa. This is what we saw next:

It's a . . .

We had our gender ultrasound today at 19 weeks, 2 days. Baby is very healthy! If this one comes early like Oliver did, I should be just about halfway! Here are some of the pictures of the little one.

siding, part 4

You might wonder how we're making any progress on the siding project with Nick out of town, but Oliver stepped up to the plate today.
first, he had to step into Nick's shoes

signing Uncle (every time he is on this ramp he has to let me know that his Uncle Evan built it for him)

the tough part, moving the siding across the yard

and finally, finding just the right spot.

I came across this super cute maternity tank today. Just what I need for my walks :)

greetings from Guam

Yes, Nick was supposed to be back by now, actually a week ago, and he's still in Guam. What was supposed to be a 3 day business trip will now be at least 12! We're not entirely sure when he will be home, but as of this morning he's telling me Saturday. His arrival date changes nearly every day and last night before I went to bed, he was pretty sure he was coming home tomorrow. The timing for this trip was not exactly ideal. For one, he was gone for most of the time that my brother was up here, to supposedly help Nick with the siding. They got four days in, but that was it. We also had our gender ultrasound scheduled for last Monday, which has now been rescheduled to this coming Monday - can't wait! I think his absence has been especially hard on Oliver. He has been really clingy and cuddly with me and he talks about his daddy constantly. Everywhere we go, he is pointing out things that remind him of Nick, so I hear "dada, dada" all day long. We have been talking on Skype as frequently as we can although the time change (they are almost a full day ahead of us) makes it a little hard.

It took me nearly a week to get these pictures from Nick, so here's a little bit of what he has been up to (you can see he hasn't been working all that much).

tiny pizza

Oliver and I took Uncle Evan and Bapa to the airport this afternoon; he was really sad to see them go. With Nick out of town, Oliver has really enjoyed having other men around. Speaking of Nick, yes, he should have been home yesterday, but I'll update more on him tomorrow.

While Evan was staying with us we were so busy that I forgot to take my camera out :( Luckily he snapped these photos on his phone.
Pizza Night! Oliver made his first and very own tiny pizza (look closely to the left of the big one). We added tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella, and after eating it, he promptly wanted to make more.
The men were babysitting one night while I was teaching,so they spent the time at one of Oliver's favorite places, the park.

nail gun

Oliver learned how to use a nail gun just by watching the guys work. The set of nail guns that Nick has includes a small one that is just the right size for Oliver. He loves construction :) Check out his technique in the video below.

siding, part 3

Here is the house, after 4 1/3 days of work! It's looking great, but there is still a lot to be done. Nick left this afternoon for Guam for a few days on a work trip, so Evan will get a nice break to actually enjoy Seattle. Oliver is looking forward to lots of playing time with his uncle.

Someone had a little too much fun eating out of his daddy's yogurt container for breakfast!
